Financial Strategies for Nashville’s Transportation Plan
InfraStrategies staff identified and evaluated over 100 potential federal, state, regional, local, value capture, and private funding and financing options to advance the Nashville Transportation Plan, a $1.6 billion program of transportation and transit projects and initiatives for the City of Nashville and the MTA. As part of this work, the team assisted Nashville in advancing an “opportunistic” federal and state grants strategy and developing a successful budget request to advance over $400 million in local transportation and transit investment over the next three years. This work also included advising Nashville on how to advance the plan while considering the financial impacts related to recent disaster events in Nashville, including the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of our work, Nashville was awarded a $1.5 million Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) grant for the Charlotte Avenue/Dr. Martin L King, Jr Blvd Transit Headways and Congestion Management project.
