$1.2M Federal SMART Grant Award for Microtransit Service in Savannah Area

We'd like to send a big congratulations to our clients at Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) on their recent award of $1.2 million in FY 2022 Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program funding for an innovative partnership to introduce first mile-last mile microtransit service in the Savannah area.

The micro-transit system would help people in Chatham County access a new, affordable transportation option when getting to work, school, doctor’s offices, and more.

“Senator Warnock and I delivering these resources to help families get around Chatham County and connect more rural areas with health care, jobs, school, and more,” said Sen. Ossoff. “I commend CAT Executive Director and CEO Faye DiMassimo and her team for their vision and congratulate them on this exciting project.”

InfraStrategies supported CAT in preparing this successful grant application and is currently supporting CAT with the completion of the Master Transit Plan, a partnership with Chatham Connects. The Master Transit Plan is developing mobility strategies and funding strategies to help shape a bolder, newer vision of public transit. Learn more at
