Congratulations to Kansas City!

An overwhelming majority of Kansas City Missouri voters approved the renewal of a 3/8-cent sales tax for public transportation on Tuesday, November 7, 2023! The renewal will generate approximately $37 million per year for a period of 10 years and will be used to fund 30 percent of the bus service in Kansas City. This will support more than 1 million trips taken monthly, with 60 percent of trips made to work or school. This measure was one of 10 on the ballot nationally, of which 9 were successful. According to APTA's Center for Transportation Excellence, these successful initiatives will generate over $900 million for public transportation.
