Nashville Awarded $1.5 million FHWA ATCMTD Grant
On December 31, 2020, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) announced the award of $49.6 million in Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) grants to 10 projects using advanced intelligent transportation systems (ITS) technologies to improve mobility and safety and support vehicle connectivity. The FHWA evaluated 46 applications requesting more than $205 million.
Our clients in Nashville were awarded $1.5 million to develop connected transit technology and improve transit service along the MLK/Charlotte Avenue Innovation and Health Corridor. This grant award was announced just two weeks after Metro Council’s overwhelming approval of Metro Nashville’s $1.6 billion Transportation Plan developed under the leadership of Mayor John Cooper.
